    Hi

I have bought a second hand Rega Plana 3 with a moving magnet cartridge as I wish to "rediscover" my old vinyl which has been laid down to mature for about 10 years until my kids can be trusted to not do Pete Tong impressions on the turntable anymore (hence RIP my old Rega r100 stylus). :(

I can either get a second hand pair of Naim NA 522 Moving Magnet boards or get an external phono stage for my Nait 3.

Has anyone got any idea how difficult a self fit is for the phono boards or how a phono stage like the Cambridge Audio Azur 640P compares for perfomance.

I mostly listen to Indie and some classical.

    Any advice very much welcomed!!

    Thanks

    Richard

My advice - get the 640p, and save a packet. It wiped the floor with the internal MM cards in my Naim 72 (and that was after they were being fed via a Hicap).

Nice one on the "Pete Tong" bit by the way - always makes me smile :)

    phono

    I disaggree
The Naim boards are very much different sounding than a Cam 640 which is fine for the money.
I'd say you loose something and gain some....

Re. Nait 3, easy to remove the plastic things before screws are accessible underneath. boards are to be clicked easy on the print, when opening amp you'll know.
