Public Enemy - Son of a Bush

Oh no, struck by greased lightning

Who voted for that asshole of your nation?
Deja Bush, crushed by the headrush, when I wrote the bumrush
Saw you salute to the then Vice Pres
Who did what RayGun [Reagan] said
And then became prez himself, went for delf
Knee deep in his damned self
Stuck in a three headed bucket, a trilateral Bush-shit
Sorry ain't no better way of puttin it
    No you cannot freestyle this
    Cause you still ain't free
If I fight for y'all then they get me
How many o y'all is comin to get me?
None! Cause it's easier to forget me
Ain't that a Bush, son of a Bush is here all up in yo zone
You ain't never heard so much soul to the bone
I told y'all when the first Bush was tappin my telephone
Spy vs. Spy, can't truss em, as you salute to the illuminati
Y'know what? Take yo ass to your one millionth party!

    Texas Bounce! Texas Bounce! (c'mon)
Cats in a cage got a ghost of a chance
Of comin back from your whack-ass killin machine

Flux of Pink Indians, The F**king C*nts Treat Us Like Pricks, is a nicely understated political record.

Try Robert Wyatt circa 1980s. There's a lovely Rough Trade compilation, Nothing Can Stop Us Now. Politics without ranting.

The Jam. For exquisitely controlled fusions of the personal and political that manage to sound spontaneous, angry and compassionate listen to Going Underground and That's Entertainment.

Crass- Reality Asylum, feeding of the 5,000, etc, etc...

Stiff Little Fingers have a good clutch of non political, political records.

Billy Bragg love his music to death, but can only sometimes side with his pinko, socialist, PC, views

    are marvelous.... they aim to...
overthrow capitalism and replace it with something nicer.
    get rid of world poorism
    and
smash up the government big style.

their music isn;t bad either. and all in a west country accent. the worzels would be proud.
    cheers

:D must confess listening to Billy for twenty years has turned me into a bit of a pinko socialist myself. Sometimes he's a little wide of the mark, but often he's spot on "Help Save the Youth of America" or "It Says Here" for example could almost have been written today and their message is still valid. His version of Leon Rosselson's "World Turned Upside Down" is an all time fave.

Leon Rosselson, now there was a mistake. I knew Billy had done some great covers of his, but had never heard anything and when I saw a Leon Rosselson album in the charity shop I had to get it. Bloomin awful. Sounds like a highly political Otway without any sense of humour (if you can imagine such a thing).

With you on SLF as well - Inflammable Material is a great punk album.
