    If you have any inclination towards hiphop/rap, give dead prez a listen to...Propaganda, Selling D.O.P.E, Know Your Enemy, Sharp shooter, all good hip hop tracks with a political message if thats your thing....

    Don't forget Frank Zappa - generally strong political comment. In particular Broadway the Hardway.

    I can't believe no-one has mentioned New Model Army !!!

    Possibly one of the best bands, EVER!!!

    Don't know about EVER :D but Thunder & Consolation is absolutely superb. Strange Brotherhood is pretty good too.

    Saw them several times live too a couple of years back and they were outstanding

    Disposable heroes of hiphoprisy - Only one album but it includes classics such as television (drug of the nation) and a cover/reworking of california uber alles that jello biafra helped on.

    Spearhead - Especially the albums home and choclate super highway

    woody guthrie for the folksy old style but still classics

    stiff little fingers

    I am not sure how political pop will eat itself were most of the time but any band that did "black country chainstore massacre" and "beaver patrol" has to be worth it.

    Holiday In Cambodia by The Dead Kennedys. This is a fantastic track, shame none of their other work comes even remotely close. Great lyrics, very political.
