    Try this one.

Oh that's really scraping the bottom of the barrel. How can you follow a class act like L. A. Confidential with that! 'Junior' indeed. Shame on you ;)

I watched a bit of Collateral Damage last night. Mr. S really is best in action roles with little complex dialogue, and comedy is not his forte.

Let's move this along before someone gets hurt. Here's an easy one with a European actor who can do comedy and drama...

    "Now she's French"

    :D

I was hoping that the De Vito link was tenious enough. I only got it because I watched LA Confidential last night.. would never have worked it out otherwise. I'm not good with remembering film quotes, (except the obvious ones) , so I had to resort to imdb for my one.. I know the shame of it ! :D

Here's a wild guess for your one..

I'm guessing the actor is Gerard Depardieu....

OK - I've googled it and now I'm disapointed :( . Depardieu does appear in the film but doesn't have the quote. However, I'm disapointed that you'd use a Hollywood remake of a French film - who's scraping the bottom of the barrel now? :D

I don't think Green Card was a hollywood remake. Since I googled it it's not really fair for me to post the answer...

GTM, good guess with Amelie (great film BTW) but not quite right. You're on the right lines with Gerrard Depardieu, but it isn't Green Card either, sorry. Another good Deparieu performance give the scope of the script and the fact that it's an American film.

michael, I didn't say that Gerrard had the line :) In fact, I didn't mention him by name at all, so you've shot off at a bit of a tangent there. The link to the film is rather stretched since the actress concerned isn't credited. But it does follow the rules of the thread.

As for it being a remake, well yes I'm sorry that is true, so I'll hold my hands up to that one. However, I think this particular barrel smells slightly sweeter so I'm not ashamed to be grubbing at its base ;)

    Regards

    the totally shameless Hex :D

I didn't say you mentioned Depardieu - I just thought it sounded like it might be him and then I googled for it discovered that he was in the film but doesn't have the line :)

I guess since GD is in the film it ranks amongst the better hollywood remakes ;)

Well, since everyone else only cares about the "REL Quake" thread  , I'll put you out of your misery:

    "My Father, the Hero"

I'm guessing the link is that Emma Thompson appears in both films.

So, here's the next (very easy) one: "I'm on Shag Highway heading West."

Love Actually is correct, and I mentioned the link in my post (it's the same link as before!): Emma Thompson.

Don't know Saab's film of the top of my head. BTW Julian, Love Actually is an excellent film, you should go and see it. It's definitely not "just for girls"

The answer would be "American Psycho". If this thread is dead, maybe someone could un-sticky it, as stickies take up space for those of us who browse on very small portable devices :)

But Steve, you just revived it :) However, I will now unsticky it as it's already had several failed attempts to revive it :( .
