Sorry if this is a really ridiculous question - ahem - have a hyperspace, been forgetting to unplug it after a playing session - but does this matter? Would attaching a switch in the powerline be out f order?

    It doesn't matter. Probably not.

I switch mine off at the mains along with everything else, but have left it on for long periods to no ill effect. So far as I know it can be left on without issue though.

Thanks UNcle Ants - unplugging and replugging is such a chore!

btw - getting in to this vinyl again, but can't help looking for the remote when wanting to change track and apalled I have to put my glass down and trot over to the black wedding cake, adjust varifocals, return to seat and pick up glass again.

I once asked tom Fletcher the same question. He said that leaving it on wouldn't damage the A/C motor in the slightest- it justs keeps spinning around without a problem or any wear.

I've got a MusicWorks mains block which has switched outlets so turning it off is simple to do, so I do so.

    Ditto here :)

Tom said 'don't worry - the motor should last 30 years even if you never switch it off'.

Saying that I've very recently got a Speedbox SE which means turning the NAS off is just a push of a button.

Oh...and the S/box works too - very well (but that's the subject for another thread sometime) ;)
