Stands and cables won't make any difference at all to how it sounds, although it seems to me you have an urge to fiddle in this area, in which case you'll probably end up thinking it sounds better even if it makes no difference. But that's OK. Just don't waste a lot of money doing it.

All IMO and IME. I think Chris (bottleneck) has given the best practical advice so far.
