    Potenza 225/55:confused:

I do hope it's a BAT VK75, now that would be big black and gorgeous, much like Beonce's arse;)

    Sigh!

I tried to make it difficult, but you lot know too much and get things easily.

I should have put it on HFC theyd be guessing for longer!

Yup, its a Border Patrol single ended 300B (early pre-production model). Its got the choke power supply and similar components to the latest ones, but no interstage transformers. The power supply is in the same box too, not a seperate box.

So! Im expecting great things, but we shall see...

It is UGLY though... maybe I can get those wood panels made for it like the later border patrols (this one is black metal cased all the way round... if anyones got webspace I have a PDF picture.

It REALLY IS ugly though!!. Good job its got valves on to make it look nice when its working.

    and what valves too...

mmmmmmm! this one has an 'aubergene' glass envelope. Possibly because its so tasty!

    NB
For anyone with a CAL dac, Ive just tube-rolled to a Phillips. Quite nice, very clear - if a little cold compared to the mullard.

    BP:confused:

Not exactly big or black for that matter (unless it has caused a catastrophic house fire of course)

Still I reckon the two words could be used to describe the 20's sonic characteristics;) It would be a toss up for me between the amp and Beonce's arse:D

Got my Consonance Basie back today, fixed working and upgraded! :)

It sounds nicely clear, detailed, open and full. A small hum that perhaps can be gotten rid off with judicious care and attention.

All was going swimmingly until I tripped over my speaker wire - smashing my speaker into the wall.

The speaker has a chip, the banana plugs are smashed off the speaker cable and theres a whole in the wall!

    :(

Ive claimed on the insurance, so we'll have to see what happens from there.

Sorry to hear that Chris :(
