Ah, then I have the very thing to suggest. On hififorsale there is a Berning ZH270 integrated amp for sale at your budget (it's not mine). I know that people keep harping on about them, but it really is head and shoulders above any amp that I have ever heard. It's a no brainer really, buy one of those and you'll never want to have another amp again.

    Neil,

I think Cooky's referring to the seller on hififorsale.

The 550. The number is bigger.

Honestly I would not buy a piece of Musical Fidelity if I could avoid it. It never fails to disappoint me sonically. Whatever you buy will be next to worthless in 6 months, and their actual build quality is extremely shoddy compared with rivals.

Why are you so keen on them if I might ask?

Very much all depends on the speakers you are using, the size of the room, the music you like, your earlier tastes in hifi, etc. etc. Give us some background please... ;)

If I may say so, it sounds like you need to try a totally different approach. That list is all much of a muchness to me. I'd look to audition something completely different and you might put an end to the box swapping. Two points of call would be Kevin at Definitive Audio in Nottingham, and Peter at Noteworthy Audio in Aylesbury.
