I've got both Debut and Post on vinyl and I'm not blown away by their improvement over CD.

It's not such a marked step up as it is with other artists. Still I'll now get Volta on vinyl too. Where did you get it from? Kept popping into HMV Oxford St and it was try again next week.

Started to feel like J.R Hartley - without the same vested interest of course.

 

I bought direct from One Little Indian shop online. Support the label and don't pay stupid 'audiophool' prices for heavy vinyl.

Listened to it again last night and it's a storming lp. I think I was comparing the vinyl version of the song to the live on Jools performance. Sounds not as clear but getting used to it! No problems with the rest of the album. Noisy as hell lol.

 

Tried to order from One Little Indian, and with tax and transport, it wasn't any cheaper than HMV heavy vinyl - when it arrives... never mind

Volta is fantastic. Surprised to hear that no-one's mentioned how well recorded it is, despite the (extremely) disparate locations the tracks were performed in. Sounds very consistent to me, and consistently excellent.

 

Anyone see any of her at Glasto? The bits I caught looked and sounded excellent.
