I've got a problem, Mrs Summit has destroyed the Cart. on my P3, so I'm considering today it's replacement with the intention of ordering one later.
I've narrowed it down to these choices, but the trouble is you can't dem them.
I quite fancy a moving coil so the Denon's, the Goldring Eroica, and the Sumiko Blue Point and the Sumiko Blue Point Special are in. Alternatively there is the Goldring 1042, the Reson Mica, or the Rega Super Elys
When I spend this much I want to get a much more precise, much more natural sound than the Rega Super Bias had. So the upshot is I'm confused. Really fancy the Sumiko's but they look a little fragile. the P3 has no VTA w/o buyiing spacers or a kit, so the Rega cart is the easiest to fit I suspect.
Any suggestions apart from shoot the wife?

Before I got back into buying hifi about 18 months ago, for years I ran a NAD deck (a rebadged Rega, in other words) with a Goldring 1042. A good combo, I think. The 1042's one of the better MM carts at the price, IMO.

It's got the usual RB300 arm and it goes into a Linn Intek amp, the phono stage on that is as good as the Rega one I know cause I've tried, it's also switchable from mm to mc
Wish I could afford it, bit much for my deck though:cool:

About 90quid for a Denon DL103 and you're sorted. I run one off my P25 (Rega RB600 arm), TonyL and many others run them off much grander decks and everyone seems to be very happy.
A gen-u-ine bargain IMO, especially if you have an MC phono stage in your amp already.

Ok I'll go for that. That was what I was thinking. Anyone know where I can get one from?

I'd have a look at the Dynavector 10X as an addition to your shortlist.
