Just bought a brand new unopened Ortofon MC3 from epay for £72. Am hoping it will be a good step up from my Rega super bias.
Anyone heard this cart. Should I open it or sell it!

If you use it - make SURE you use the Rega torgue tool to remove/reinsert the bolts (you DO use an RB300 arm don't you? - if not, my mistake!) otherwise you could knacker the arm bearings.

What's that tool, do I have to buy it? Can I not just use an allen key and be very careful?

You'll either have to buy one or take the deck to the shop.

RBxxx bearings are really fragile; you can knacker them by using anything other than the correct torque wrench from Rega (something to do with lever effect on the arm base).

Turned out I had that tool, just a little allen key really. It came with the cart. originally.
Have now put the Ort on and it sounds

Amazing in comparisom with the Rega. It's playing the Mahler 10 Adagio at the moment and it sounds terrific, much lusher and more ambient. I won't be selling it that's for sure.
