I've had a cyrus discmaster,psx-r/dacmaster for about 9 years but the upgrade bug is too hard to ignore any longer. Rest of my system is Atc scm50asl & Bryston B25. Music is quite varied, but mainly guitar based rock/metal. I had a Wadia 302 a few months back on home dem for a week, although in lot of ways it sounded better than my cdp, more solid, more detail, more lifelike, it also sounded slow like it was playing at half speed, how is the 861 or the 301 ? I've got a week off work in october and would like to arrange a few demos. Any recomendations? The Cyrus Dac X is the obvious one. I have no other source except the cdp so a player with a volume control would be Ok (which is why I had a listen to the Wadia).
