    Hi guys,

I've just had an e-mail at work from a guy called Jeff Dorgay. He has just started producing a new Hi-Fi magazine which is available as a free PDF download. See the link below for more details.

After a quick glance, it looks to be a decent read, even if some of the gear would be difficult to get over here. Plenty of music articles too, the whole point of hi-fi, I think. It will be nice to see how they get on. Free as well? Worth a go, obviously.

    Hello there:

Just so you know, we don't all say "frickin awesome" over here, but I am rather fond of a few of your expressions, especially "knackered".

We really appreciate the feedback, and I noticed your comment about us reviewing gear here that you can't get there. We would love to find a correspondant in the UK and would welcome a bit more knowledge as to what is available there.

I have a similar problem when I read HIFI +. I really enjoy that magazine, but also notice that about half of that gear isn't available in the States. Kind of like the cars, I wish we could flush some of the giant SUV's and get a few Clios and Smart cars here!

    Best regards,

    welcome to the forum jeff.

I enjoyed reading the magazine and intend to return to read the rest of it at a later point.

We talk a lot about british products we like here (and others), but if you want to see whats on the market, here are a few addresses of a few of the larger british shops.. their websites are full of goods for sale in the UK

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the links!

We will be featuring more gear as we go! Hopefully
we will have more products that are featured there
too, Im a big fan of British hifi, so that won' t be
    a problem.

We are featuring some new Naim speakers next issue
and will hopefully be featuring some things from Sugden,
Neat, and Chord very soon. We will also be doing an ongoing
    column on Rega modifications.

Im a car guy too and the Regas just seem a lot like BMW
2002's, where there is a whole group of people making great
    upgrades and accessories.

Stay posted, we have a lot more in store!

    Best regards,

    Jeff

Seems nice like most hifi mags. Lots of articles by few people with goldenears ability who could hear the differences with cables and racks too.

Just to say that on page 37, one of your contributors uses the term in relation to his Wavac (as opposed to Evac and Medivac)

For those wingeing that the products are not available over here, they are. It's a global market and the internet provides the opportunity. Hence my ownership of Berning & Merlin amongst others. If you insist on relying on your local dealer, you are missing out on the opportunity to sample some superb equipment.

Glossy magazine by the way. Nothing new but very glossy. Good Luck.

A clever use of PDF and the pages are to the same scale as most peoples monitors nice touch.

As it becomes more popular you need to consider a faster server. It took around half an hour to download here.

I had no problems with their server, not the fastest around but good enough. I just timed the download to me at 3 minutes exactly, I do have an 8Mb connection though.

Hmmmm... I'm on a 2Mb connection and it's slow - I'd guess 10Kb/s? - but then I'm in no hurry, I;ll just let it do its thing in the background...

Wingeing? I only mentioned that some products would be difficult to get in the UK, by which I intended that to get a listen to, prior to spending a load of cash on whatever product, would be difficult. Touchy!

Lets get back to topic and discuss the magazine itself if you have anything to say about it. There are plenty more threads around here that are specifically for discussing the merits of different cables.

    Hi,

I rather enjoyed the read. It is good to take in others experiences. Still, I tend to like 6moons.com better.... :MILD:

Had a quick look and seems pretty good. I've got a pretty entry level bb connection, and it only took a couple of minutes to download.

    Good luck with it :)
