Markus, it is 65Hz, of course fist order. The physical distance between vertical horns alignment line and the bass tower is ~ 18? but it is not really critical as I was able to observe, still if I had chanse I would go further, still keeping them on-radios. The image in the flowing post depicts how they are located:

The real game of radicalism and mental rape the you-like performs over yourself by trying to yank the Cat?s tail or to look with a flash-light deep into the Cat?s a'ss. The Cat is a ***** but if she wish she can fart you off do not feel too disappointed that she does not care about you - you found what you search.

If it is audio forums then stay with the subject and do not use your online endeavor to rectify own psychological disturbance. How your given post relates to the subject of the thread or audio generally? At my own forum I would declare you as a Moron but not because you are secretly refuse to lick my a'ss but because you went to audio forum and upload garbage that has no relation to audio.

The man goes through all that trouble to align the "drivers", easily seen on the photos, comes the smart ass, who cant even hear differences between cables, and asks if he did time align the drivers, I think Romy was very polite...

Then the usual morons, hidding behind their precious English language, when they run out of valid arguments...

    Get a life...

what a amuse to have you here too, Romy

    hey Romy

very nice to see you here around. still bored at your forum ?
it seems getting more and more empty and boring ; and, as at AA you are not a welcome guest, and at Bert's Forum excluded shamefully, it seems you are looking now for this forum to insult, harass and offend people. what a shame. 60 years old, and not learnd how to socialize in a decent manner.
And, it looks almost, you will never learn.

Do the photos really tell you that?

Take a tape measure. Measure from your waist to a point on the wall six feet up. Then do the same to a point three feet up. Still think those things are time aligned?

    Antonio,

all the photos tell me are that he went to the trouble of mounting the drivers in a straight vertical line. That also tells me they are not time aligned. If they aren't there will be phase issues. If I'm wrong, I'd be delighted for Romy to tell me why - not simply hurl derogatory comments. Or anyone else for that matter.

They look time aligned to me, although I cannot see exactely where the acoustic center is for each driver, when I look at the speakers I assume the builder took that into consideration, otherwise he wouldnt bother, INHO...

As for difraction of the tweeter sound, the Cessaro also have the ST behind the horn, if they do it on 25.000 pounds speakers, I assume it is not a problem, or they do think their customers are morons, as Romy puts it, what is different with his speakers, why didnt you make the same question regarding coop's speakers ?

At least Romy livens the place up! Romy prefers to have his horns firing horizontally, and yet he sits extremely close to them ,I would have thought this might have given rise to integration issues, Ralph ( Cessaro ) prefers to allign the drivers on an elipse with the focus at the listening position, he told me that the large systems can take a week to set up. I for one hope that Romy sticks around.

    coops,

I have no idea wich system sounds better, nor do I care, as it will be difficult to have either, particularly Romy's, but it is obvious by just looking at the pictures that he took extreme care positioning the drivers...

Except if one's intention is trolling, of course...

Antonio it would be interesting to hear Romy's system wouldn't it?
He has obviously given the subject a lot of time, thought and energy, and is trying to push the boundaries of replay, and that has to be a good thing. Horns and TAD compresion drivers have been a revelation to me, after a series of 'hi-end' conventional box speakers. Regards Keith.

Time alignment on the horns should be properly done. At 65 Hz, the wavelength is about 7 m (22'). The arrival time difference resulting from a physical distance of 45 cm (18") at this frequency will not be audible. The effect of siting the bass tower at a beneficial place in the room will be far more important.

I'd be far more concerned about reflections off the back of the large mid-bass horn. I don't see how they can be avoided without introducing other compromises, though. Mike, is this a roundabout way of arguing for flat horns instead of round ones?

I read many of Romy's posts the way I would listen to someone with a mild form of Tourette's. Disregard the language, look at the substance. I don't mind being called a moron, I don't take it personally as in Romy's world, there's probably about half a dozen audio non-morons on this planet. That's okay, my personal sonic depth seriousness is currently rather shallow as I have other things in my life to care about. That doesn't mean I don't like to read and learn.

But I notice I asked a straightforward question and got a straightforward answer.

Hm, it looks like you guys have those brainless psychos at your forums as well. Be careful, the forum, I have banned many audio communities from my presence just because they turn themes into a breading ground for audio idiocy and I have seen some dangers symptoms at this forum. I have saw interesting posters at this site and I would like do not see it to turn your into another audio locker-room for the audio-teenagers.

    Anyhow, answering Markus Sauer?s comment:

    Markus,

You took me wrong. The 45 cm (18") in my case it not the extrusion of the bass array over MF, they are of course time-aliened (it is easily measurable) but the distant from the MF to the bass in HORIZONTAL PLANE. I though it was what you asked. The effect of sitting the bass tower at a beneficial place in the room is a very different subject form time-alignment

    Rgs, Romy the Cat

PS: in future if you wiling to deep-link images form my site I would like you to mention where they were taken from, the elemental internet courtesy?

    Romy,
What do you feel are the advantages (in musical terms or otherwise) of a carefully implemented multi channel horn system over a speaker such as the Quad ESL63 which is championed by some for its accuracy and the low levels of distortion it contributes? Answer carefully. There are those here who would suggest that your preference for horns and zero feedback triode amplifiers are equivalent to believing in the tooth fairy and other forms of 'magic'.

I am extremely curious to hear good horn speakers, fullrange drivers and open-baffle, already "killed" box speakers for me...
