    Mods? Anyone?

A cheap flight, a half brick and and some amateur detective work should do the trick.

you may be very right with the first sentence, i don't pretend to be a holder of a holy truth in this case as i write from a perspective of a simple listener, not a technically versed person like you. i simply don't know what does the technical data you commented means in this case.

i mentioned the dedicated listening room that NN has for anyone who wants to hear their products because it is simply something that none of us - ordinary people - can afford to have so i may doubt that we actually hear a performance that is beyond what such a speaker would exibit in a normal room. but than these conditions are the same for whatever speaker is being tested there.

i have no intention to pretend that this might be a real, absolute state of the art design you are discussing on this thread - this is just a 3,700 euros (2500 quid) design that works extremelly well within a context of dynamic/hybrid designs of much higher price range thanks to the fact of cheap labour in a part of the world they come from.

i'm just sure that RAAL ribbons have to be heard - they have nothing to do with any prejudice or knowledge about ribbons we used to have before them.

sorry romy, i have no intentions to communicate with you - not interested in your knowledge or your hocus pocus, call it what you want - so this goes to anyone who is honestly interested in ribbons, electrostatics or whatever is considered to be a panel nowadays: there is something fresh going on that deserves an attention. a simple and humble 2-way implementation of RAAL design will certainly do more for the ribbons than you did in your horns no one will ever have a chance to hear or evaluate. this ain't your topic anyway to judge what is right or what is wrong, i didn't mentioned electrostatics first and i've reacted to the fact that a rather compromised speaker such as ESL63 is considered to be a benchmark even nowadays. you've committed enough of amateurish no-no's on ZG to be taken seriously, at least i have no patience in my life for any majestic authority who has an ultimate opinion on everything and everyone but firstly on things he has never seen, experienced or heard of before, such as living voice horns in this case. sorry, bye.

You said enough to expose your definition of ?to communicate? ? to perform the maniaco-shamanic dances is very far from here I willing to participate. It is sad that Alex is picking up cheap and morono-ecstatic admierers. Well, perhaps it is a price to pay for popularity? In such case Alex and this forum do suffer form the same illness: the MacDonald level customers?

no, the most correct for aleksandar (his real name, you are wrong, he is not alex) would be to pick up all the goebbels and goerings of the audio worlds today. and no one else to be allowed to touch his holly ribbons. would that be correct?

I call him Alex I did not hear him complaining. I have no problems with him; in fact I gratefully use his ribbons. What however I do not do is running like a wounded in ass antelope across internet and whore myself out. As I said, looking at your cheap cheerleading I have no motivation to talk to you. If you have any flux of brain them you will realize that you with your RAAL paranoia should not be in this thread to begin with.

    IME:

All of the above, except not 'greater frequency extension'. Horns operate generally across a small bandwidth. For LOW frequency extension you need massive horns - huge in fact.

They don't have 'boxy' qualities it's true. Horns (often, but not always) exhibit other forms of colouration though.

Another strength of a modern horn (less so vintage horns) is high power handling.

Living Voice Avatar/Auditorium etc are very sensitive speakers. In my view their sense of palpability comes from high sensitivity amongst other things (like attention to the crossover and drive units etc).

I wouldn't say they sound like horns, just that they share some of their benefits.

One thing to be said in Kevin's favour is that I think he understands very well the difference between listening to music and listening to hifi (audio). Most of the systems he puts together, whether with the 'conventional' speakers or the horns, communicate the intent in the music as well as pretty much anything else I've listened to.

I wouldn't necessarily include his 'show' presentations amongst them. Show conditions are invariably rather odd and rarely allow great results.

I'm with Romy on this one. All you retarded internet psychos in the ass-serving business should stay “f-u-ck” out of this thread. Kevin's Audio Voice speakers are a load of Sanche Pance and if you're not man enough to admit it, then I hope you see someone elses penis on the legs of your neighbor. That'll teach you.

Right, that's that sorted out. I'll just take my medicine, then I'm going for a lie down.

dont waste your time with Romy the Cat and his opinion, and dont care abought it. He has some mental illness, as he seems to have fun and pleasure to attack almost anyone on the internet audio forums. maiby 10% of his forum is useful information, and if someone wants to educate abought audio, must go thrue all the dreck he writes. his playback is ok ONLY for his own way and preference to hear music. He is just a hobbyist as many others with a blown ego, but in essence a poor and miserable human beeing, that searches to blame all other people around him for his frustrations, but not himself. He behaves like a teenager at the school yard, wich has to impose itself amongst the others, and has a sadic pleasure, when somebody gets out hurt of the verbal fight, frustrated. he should search a psycho analist, and get some treatment. There are Acoustic Engeneers, that do not appear unfortunately at audio forums. these guys do SERIOUS research of development of Loudspeakers, these guys could teach and pass valuable information. but unfortunately , these guys are rare.
the best would be to exclude psychos like romy from ALL audoforums.
