Is it me or is it an almost direct rip off/pastiche of the Stones' Street Fighting Man?

... and is it me or in their latest publicity photos, does Liam Gallagher look like an extra from Emmerdale Farm?

Heh! You'd have thought they'd have at least gone through a Pink Floyd copyist phase before going 'back to basics'.

I'm really looking forward to the new album coming out. I'll be doing my normal and buying it on both the usual high standard Vinyl package that Oasis alwyas bring out , as well as the usual shitty CD for the car.

I've not got a ticket for the Hampden gig in June, but now have a couple of days holiday booked so I'm planning to pop down on the day and buy off a tout.

What a boring world it would be if we all liked the same music.....

Sid I quite agree with you. I'm seeing them in Manchester on the saturday, that's the gig for their fan club members (the tickets never made open sale it was sold out on the pre-sale) A bit like U2 I think they get pilloried for being popular.
Funnily enough I went to see Kasabian on Monday, and the gig got slated by the MEN as they weren't original enough, yet I found it one of the most uplifting hour and a half I've heard in many a moon. One mans meat is another mans murder as they say

Nah; they get pilloried because they're copyists, fronted by a beetle-browed retard. People remember the Smiths and can't help comparing.

U2 were and still are a shite band, but they never really annoyed me till Bono started on his crusade to save the world. We have Bob Geldof to do that sort of thing.

They're attacked because of their success and because they get loads of publicity. That's the british way, build them up, and when you're up there make sure you look like you're gratefull, then of course try and knock them down. Slagging off Oasis has become almost a national obsession, I think some people enjoy it more than masturbation.
I've got my ticket for the Clapham Grand and in a couple of weeks will be seeing one of the greatest rock n roll bands this country has ever produced, can't wait.

That depends on whether you like them or not doesn't it Uncle. IMHO Eminem is shite, but he seems to have received lots of critical acclaim. No-one has the right to be the arbiter of what is good and what isn't.
FWIW I think Oasis are by far the best rock band of their generation, as U2 are of theirs. They get a critical panning for being successful, but whose fault is that?

No. Lots of bands that actually are shite don't get anywhere near the amount of criticism Oasis do.

Well it was meant to be a gentle ribbing, but absolutely, I don't like em and think they are shite

No but we all have the right to say what we think. I think Eminem is shite too ;)

No they get a critical panning for being shite ... and gobby too :JPS:
