Like you say this will/should work.

However the "man in the street" I think wishes to justify spending/not spending money on this piece of kit that many people swear by.

The cable you suggest may well prove/disprove the hypothesis but will not be something the average punter can identify with.

We have a few volunteers which is good but these guys will be spending money posting this parcel of cables around the country. I want to make sure the test leads are familiar to most and something they can easily identify with.
