Many nice hifi pics posted here, and on other sites. However, there seems to be a common trait amongst all audiophiles....

    ....NO TASTE IN DECOR!

Can someone put me out of my misery and post a pic of their listening room that doesn't make me retch? To start off with, here's an old pic taken when I was still working on my house:

In my defense, the purple armchair is long gone, replaced with a modernistic brown leather sofa, the floor is a bit tidier, and the lighting has been improved. I must remember to borrow my friend's digital stills camera again.......

The hifi is to the right of this pic, behind the (now removed and replaced) cheap door. This is a pic lit under tungsten and flash, the colours in the first pic are much truer to life:

Ian, I knew nothing about you, but the setup screamed "SINGLE GUY!!!" at me. If I tried to introduce anything even vaguely like that, I'd end up wearing it!

Tom, good to see the Jecklin Float box there - I've one just like it right here.

ahhh I'm afraid I sold that a few months ago on Ebay. They were great headphones, but the foam was starting to come away, and my amplifier doesn't have a headphone socket.

I think Ian's piccie doesn't belong in this thread hehe;)

"ALL" audiophiles, or just those without a permanently residing significant other half? :)

OK, some guys have an eye for interior decorating or aesthetics, but I'd be quite happy to admit that I'm not one of them. I haven't got a clue when it comes to colour schemes, etc, but I do know what I like when I see it put in front of me but am absolutely useless at the design and specification side of room design. I'm not over keen on the taste in interior of the previous occupants of my house which was bought over 2 years ago, but have been thoroughly lazy and done the bare minimum on changing things - mainly because it's functional and prefer spending the money (and time) on the system and music.

    Nice vynil collection.

My shelf is looking much more messy than it is in that picture now! And yes I have to admit it has been quite some year (or maybe even decade!) since a girl last went in my room!

In fact I shall take a picture of it now and post it up.

I could should you mine, but there's no point, because you wouldn't see anything! All you'd see is a tall ornamental cherry cabinet inside which everything (except the speakers) resides (TV too). I like it this way. More to the point, so does Mrs. Tones. And you wouldn't even see the speakers, because they're at the far end of the room.

But isn't the point that you show how tasteful your room is, not how messy your boxes are?

No point showing mine, I'm moving in 3 weeks & 2 days

Bloody HELL Penance - what the **** is that turntable - where did you get the bits for it from??? Cool - Nottingham Analog Anna Log on the cheap eh?? ;)

My flat is rented; I do own the furniture, but in this ancient photo (March 03) one of the sofas (from Argos) was the wrong type (the one nearest the camera). You've got to dig that 1970s pouffe thingie - goes well with my 8track deck...

My housemate has now totally cluttered the room up with Star Wars stuff so it looks like a total mess. OH well...

wish it was a NA Dom:)
its a bastardised Linn Basik (with your ringmat sat on top;) )
Plinth is MDF loaded with lead shot, sounds better than the Basik, but no killer. Next i have an 80mm Scheu acrylic platter and will be useing 40mm slate for the plinth:D

Woah- doesn't all that lead make the sound a bit "thick" and slow in the bass??? It looks well cool though - you should varnish it up :)
