Northern 2006- Manchester Airport HiFi Show

    Hi,

    Anyone going to the Manchester show on the 28th & 29th of January?

    I plan to go, I think, on Sunday. This is favourite at the moment.

    There seems to be some interesting stuff on offer. Steve of Seventh Veil will be there with his speakers. Big Tone (Wadia-Miester) will be there with his cables.

    There should a mix of high end and more reasonable priced stuff. A number of the Hifi dealer will be there such as Midland audio Exchange, Doug Brady, Audio Council, Acoustica, Audioworks, Practical Hifi+, Orpherus Audio and sevenoaks. Plus distrubuters wears from companies such as A' AUDIO MARKETING, Audiocraft, Henley Designs, Metropolis, Musicology, Redline, RT Labs, Rowles music, Symmetry, UKD and more.

    Hi,

    I will not be able to make it, but RealHi-Fi.com will be there supporting the local dealer (Orpheus IIRC). System is not finalised, but there is a good chance that the Hyperions will be there, Music First Passive Magnetic Preamp in silver is planned and loads of Shanling/3DAcoustics/3DSonics stull will supply the rest.

    There is still an outside chance my transparence Speakers will make an appearance, but it's unlikely.

    I'll be there on Sunday with Tony just like the man said. Will probably be in the morning into early afternoon when we go, as my other mate who's coming has to be back by mid afternoon. Could perhaps meet for a drink at lunchtime?

    Is this the biggest hifi show in the UK?

    If only it was a month later, I'd be able to make it :(

    What other good hifi shows are there & when - the bristol show looks quite small.

    Bristol is one of the big ones. The other popular one is heathrow in sept/oct time. There's a smaller heathrow show in april. Then there's the what hi-fi show in autumn in central london.

    :) The trick is to have a missus who is a music nut - then when she wants music for birthdays and Christmas, you make sure you buy her it on vinyl - before long she'll be addicted.

    It seems I will be going! Somebody just landed JJ 'in it' so I will be looking after the smaller of the SOM rooms for him. So, if anybody feels like saying hello then please do :) But do be gentle, it’s my first ever room! I should be easy to spot with a name tag saying 'Simon Ashton'.
