"Grandma, we love you" and "Shaddapa ya face" (or whatever it was called) are waaaaaayyyyyy worse than any of those on the shortlist (allthough Meatloaf's "I'll do anything for love" is not far behind :D )

"Octopus's Garden" is worse than "Ob-la-di-ob-la-da". Mind you, it was written by Ringo.

(Favourite Ringo story: when asked by an interviewer if he ever wished the Beatles had recorded more of his songs, he said something like, "No, I'd bring a song into the studio and play it for them, then John would say, 'Here's one I wrote yesterday', and play 'Strawberry Fields Forever', and I'd say, 'Let's do yours then'.")

I think you'll all find that "Washing Machine" by The Door And The Window is the worst...
Like the title says, it features a washing machine solo.

However, I don't think they were "serious" musicians!

But what more could you reasonably expect from Joe Dolce or the kids who sang the 'grandma' ditty? What more could you expect from Ringo, for that matter?

Lennon and McCartney were/are the holy duo of pop music and they still managed to produce more than their fair share of cack, of which 'Ob-Li-Da' is a prime example. It's like that Beckham penalty against Portugal; would it have been anywhere near as bad if Gary Neville had skyed it?

Still, I'd rather listen to the Beatles at their worst than Meatloaf at his best.

The wonderful thing about the Beatles is that I probably know all of their songs and only about a half a dozen of them can reasonably be described as bad. And they never made a bad album. That's an impressive hit-rate by anyone's standards.

Hmm. "Let It Be" is a bit off colour next to the rest and "Beatles For Sale" was a bit lacklustre ... but I suppose that's next to the high standard of the rest. By most other bands they'd probably be considered not bad at all

Presumaby the worst "memorable" song. All the truly bad ones have been long forgotten or never published

I'll come clean, I'm not a big fan, but that's more to do with over-familiarity than anything else. Really, I could do without hearing another Beedles tune until when I'm, well, 65.

I'm not a big Beatles fan. There are far worst records about.

This isn't too bad. I love the video with Rod in skin tight sandex trousers prancing around. Pure 70s.

This tune by Vanilla Ice is big on the dancefloor & one of the most requested records at a few of my gigs. Quite funny.

I like the Muppets. quality entertainment.

The original is a very good pop /soul song. Cher murdered it.

    What's a matter you. hey!

Diamond Lights is a pretty poor record from a great footballing duo. I meet Chris Waddle a few moths ago when he spent an evening in the Bar where I dj. He shook my hand. The king of disco meets the god of football. A fine combination.

Dean - you always amaze me with the depth of music knowledge youve gained.

What was that truly awful crap song with a green stuffed toy duck in a nappy with a safety pin? (was it orville?)

Theres a song that I hate the most though... see if you can guess it from this... all I remember is that its a woman with a very high voice and some of the lyrics go '' la la la la la, la la la la la ooooo ooooo oooo ooo.'' She hits these high notes and I just whince. They could have used this song against colonel Noriyaga, and he wouldnt have lasted 5 minutes! (nb if you get it from that, Im well impressed)

It "I wish I could fly" by Keith Harris & Orville as Analoguekid has stated. They are another pair that I have worked with. Along with "Cuddles the monkey" they did an adult show at one of my student union gigs.

    http://www.henderson-management.co.uk/KEITH HARRIS.html

It does sound like the late Minnie Ripperton with "Lovin' you" as Lamboy has stated. A fine singer. Check out some of her stuff.
