Have you tried GIMP? I use this (admittedly under windows, but it appears to be designed for Linux). I'm sure its not as good as photoshop, but it seems to be a fairly capable piece of software, nonetheless. I think its better than the (pirated) Paint Shop Pro that I used to use. :)

Yea this one is new over christmas, everyone was panicking because they had to wait for 'Black Tuesday' to get it fixed, it would appear MS have got round to it quicker.

Thanks god I am not on that treadmill.

You want GIMP, replacement for PS, I use it under Win xp at the mo, there is a project out there to make it look / work like photoshop, but that's just for the mac at the moment :(

Far as I can make out as long as you don't use IE to surf the web your fine, good old FireFox!

Lee - it's called GIMPShop - also runs on Windows. I tried it a while back, but still preferred Photoshop, plus, I have a few Photoshop specific plug-ins that I use.

I have been posting on forums for 8 years,I have always run AV and anti-spyware,currently McAfee and Microsoft beta,I have never had a virus or any infected spyware.the only truly dodgy sites are those linked in forums.I can't see what all the fuss is about,'go and get a Mac' for example. Why? If simple security protects you? The people most stressed seem to be those with even greater degrees of protection, yet IT fools like me just happily live in peace with my PC.

hehe, never tempt fait Saab, I expect to see a post next week from you saying "I've got a virus wot do i do!" hehe :) I've started to receive viruses via email again, thankfully Thurderbird deals with them without me having to worry about them, I don't worry about this sort of thing either, cos I don't leave myself open to the expolits by using dodgy software or visiting "those" sites! ;)
