...and in a new plot twist Nic Cage's character signals for help by waving an American flag, then falls victim to friendly fire air-strike. Villagers totally unharmed ;)

Never seen it, but if it's anything like other Hollywood remakes, it'll probably suck (e.g. The Assassin, Taxi)

I think the title sums it up nicely. Maybe they'll set it with terrorists as the islanders and Nicholas Cage will be an American pilot on a routine terrorists killing mission who gets shot down and heroically burned in a giant wicker vishnu whilst the terrorists all stand around smoking opium.
    Could happen.
Leaves room for the sequel that way too.

If the americans do anything like what they did to the Great French Film (IMO) 'Taxi' then I might aswell ignore the Americans from this point foward. oh ya I kinda do that already.

My only real gripe with the French version of Taxi is subtitles... I'm not averse to foreign films, but due to my eyesight, I find reading subtitles is almost impossible! That said, when the tires are smokin' and the revs are rocketing, it doesn't matter! Shame the main dude's haircut's so naff though ;)
