i've just trawled eveery thread on that link, including the 50 or so that link from the bottomin to audioholics. and i must say he puts up a convincing case for measurement only. but i can't help thinking, so what? maybe there's just stuff they aren't measuring that takes place, that has an effect? maybe the interaction of three simple parameters such as LCR form such a complex matrix that predicting outcomes is futile. or maybe, just maybe, the single biggest factor at work here it pstchology? anyway i'm starting my own cable company, and all the cables are going to be identical apart from the colour and the cost of the cables. the more expensive your setup, the more expensive the cable you should buy. and the only rule before plugging the cable in is that you have to accept that it will only provide you with 95% of the improvment that you require from it. and then i'll offer everyone a 5% refund. i think it's a winner. i'm off to open my ebay shop now.
Possible, but extremely unlikely. Electrical conduction is extremely well understood (about 150 years since Michael Faraday), and if there were something different going on, the scientific community would be investigating and there'd be a whole mountain of peer-reviewed articles in the scientific press. But there aren't, at least none of which I'm aware). Definitely the case - but, as I've said before, if you're happy with what you hear, who cares if it's not actually there in reality but only inside your particular head? This, after all, the only head you have to satisfy. Most definitely. If Wotstheirface can get away with selling jars of coloured pebbles, small clocks and chips that sit on top of equipment (not forgetting all the marvellous Shakti cons), you'll be a zillionaire in no time, crying, as Liberace so neatly put it, all the way to the bank.
To say that, because you cannot hear something, someone imagines things that they say they hear is rather arrogant.
Not at all. It's my point of view that there's nothing to hear, which pov is just as valid as anyone else's, n'est-ce pas? It would be arrogant if I insisted in ramming it down people's throats as the only possible answer, and even though it is, I don't
