Is it the S300 redux, and will it sound as good? Lovely piece of equipment anyway.

Yes indeedy - the M series is the Silverline replacement. There's a universal disc player and surround amps and things too.

Looking at the rest of the pics on avland it looks quite different internally to the S300. There's a lot more stuff in there and on the back panel. Pre-outs are new. Interesting... Would like to hear one!

What does 'dual mono' mean (as opposed to stereo)? Is it an extra power transformer?

My understanding is you have two separate amps, with separate PSUs, in one box.

I'm sure it sounds great, but I'm not too sure about the looks.

I can't decide if I like/dislike the styling. A bit Kitchen appliance maybe.

Maybe it'd look better in the "flesh".

    Any prices/specs etc?

NAD have been manufacturing their gear in China for some years now. Certainly the C540 CDP was made there and the C320BEE/C521BEE are both made there. In fact, I'm sure some versions of the original 3020 were made in Taiwan.

Yes, but the Silver line was made in the US or Denmark

Didn't realise that. I recall reading and seeing some pics somewhere that the Silverline series had some commonalities with some gear manufactured by a Chinese company. Can't remember where I saw this, so unfortunately can't provide a link.

nsherin - the item you're thinking of was the similarity between the S300 and the Gryphon tabu century, which is the subject of a long thread of a while back on this forum (search for it). Gryphon are danish, however.

Manufacturing in china is no big deal these days. If you don't, you are unlikely to be competitive.

Garyi - a quick Google search turned this up - definately some similarities there

Thanks, Isaac - that's jogged my memory! I knew I'd read about it somewhere!
