I am going to audition speakers and a CD player at Oxford Audio this Saturday. Does anybody know them or had any dealings with them?

Oxford Audio Consultants is run by Jonathan Harker, a well-mannered audio enthusiast of Antipodean extraction!

I first met Jon in 1987 when he was one half of Oxford Acoustics, who manufactured a novel turntable design for a few years before Jon started Oxford Audio. I still own the Oxford Acoustics Crystal Reference turntable he sold me in 1987.

Jon is very knowledgible and friendly to deal with and I have visited his shop and purchased from him with confidence.

I will let you know how I get on. There may be few surprises!

Any other opinions regarding Oxford Audio?

John's a nice guy, if a little absent minded.

Some years ago I had to prove to him that he'd wired up one speaker out of phase for a demo I had booked. Somewhat amateurish and made me wonder about their real listening skills but I still like them.

    Hi Greg,

Are you going to listen to the VA Mahlers?

I was very tempted to go and have a listen myself, but I might have ended up bringing them back and they are probably too big for my room.

Interested to know how you get on.

    Hi Chris,

I just came back from Oxford Audio late this evening. Very nice guys, yes I did audition the VA Mahlers amongst others and guess what? I bought them! I am just going to start a new thread about it.
