If I give blood on Friday - how much is that likely to screw me up if I go large on Saturday at a mate's party - note, NOT an alcoholic one...? Ideas?

I'm supposed to have given blood this year, and every time the day appears right before a big night, and I don't want to f**k up for obvious reasons...

Paul - who IS that chick btw? She looks a bit like Gene Simmons' wife, who plays that chick in Detroit Rock City - yum yum!

    Hey Dom,

If youve had a toke ot two in the past few weeks then your blood count will show abnormaly hihj levels of protein (IIRC) - they may refuse your blood anyway. So unless your 'clean' why bother?

I may be wrong of course - any medics in the house....Bub, anyone?

Dude the acmount of chemicals you put through your body I'm surprised you have blood at all! They'll probably use it for battery acid, or give it go a druggie to ease the craving!

Actually that's a very good point - urm, after Glastonbury some of that stuff in there could be quite unpleasant for a would-be recovering patient - although if it's bad enough for them to need blood they're probably dosed up with morphine anyway so they'd not notice...

Hmm - right, I'll wait for the next event and de-tox (mainly) in the meantime I think...

As for ganga and protein - urm, why is that? Curious... That stuff remains in the blood for a fairly long time too doesn't it? What about acid and e - I heard they can have traces for over 20 years - at least in the brain (flashbacks anyone? uuuugh!)

Acid will stay in your system for yeeeeeeeeears! The effects of a *flashback* are often exagerated. BUT there was research done way back and they said that at the time, the way it effects you is pretty much identical to at the actual time of the trip! Get a book called LSD and the american dream! It's a sort of look at the whole beatnick, hippy, pranksters, angels culture in a sort of historical account. Very interesting! Lots of big words though! Goes into all the research done and follows some of the characters around at the time!

Oh right, so that's what she looks like! I take it it's her voice that we hear singing on "Something"? She sounds a bit like Kim Wilde, IMO - just thought I'd get another 80's reference in there! :D

Obviously those who currently have signficant other halfs are somewhat more exacting in their requirements, eh? :p

    Timpy,

Upgradeitis or do you just like keeping your options open. Somewhat like your approach to hi-fi, a man with many speakers and a speaker for every occassion! ;)

    Hi Henry

No, don't worry, one day I know I'm going to have to settle down and marry and set of speakers. ;)

    Cheers

I might well have to check this out - I got this "Sorted - a history of drugs" book from FOPP last year but I had to give up on it - the print in it is TIIIIIIINY and there's no way in hell I could get on with it :( Big words I can cope with so long as the print they're in is reasonably sized too :)
