Having heard the single "Young Folks" a whila back, the album was bought on the strength of that alone. You'll probably recognise it from a snippet being played to death on current Sky adverts.
Young Folks is perhaps my summer anthem already, and the album as a whole makes for good music to clean crap out of the garden. The sign of a summer soundtrack fo' sho'!!!

and the video for Young Folks...

    Tis good :)

Twee Swedish indie pop is one of Aunties major obsessions at the moment.

If you like this try the Acid House Kings and some of the Swedish pop acts. A lot of it isn't available here, but try Labrador records site. Handily they charge no postage, even to the UK.

The two samplers (Labrador Kingsize #1 and #2) are a good purchase to see which you like

On Labrador, The Acid House Kings are probably the pick (the album "Sing Along With Acid House Kings" is a work of pop genius) but Radio Department, Pelle Carlberg and Edson are all worth a punt I think.

Outside of Labrador, the Concretes are a favourite in this genre and Hello Saferide is worth looking for too.

    Happy music for happy people.

I've got the two KOC albums, and the remix album ("Versus"), which I'm very fond of.

Depends what you're into. If you're approaching it as someone who is only into their sound, then fair enough. However, I listen to a lot of electo' so it hits the spot nicely for me. Some really good takes on some of the tracks.

MO! You inspired me and last night we had a run through some of this stuff. It was fun, The Radio Department are upgraded from "worth a punt" to "excellent" - the album "Lesser Matters" is ace - like poppy sounding shoe gazers :) and I think I will have to buy some Ronderlin and Wan Light.

It should have occurred to me but the female singer on "Young Folks" is in fact Victoria Bergsman, who was the lead singer with the Concretes until recently.

Also Auntie sent me a link to this rather good blog dedicated to such fare:

The comment about crap KOC remixes reminded me to finally get round to ordering Erlend Oye solo album "Unrest". Should have a nice delivery of albums turning up soon :)
