Anybody got any reccomendations for modding a phonostage?

I've got a CA 540P I'm goping to play with. I guess replacing the power supply caps would be a good start yes? And pad the internals out with blu-tac?

I've done one of these .....if it the cambridge audio little silver box with wall wart .....this was done on a limited budget

new opamps opa2134 or opa2604 [can't remember] and fitted sockets
new psu res caps panasonic fc's
    schottky diodes
    silmic output caps
    decent resistors
    good sockets
    hard wired with silver

I had a hum problem that took forever to solve in the end found that the new socket on one channel were touching the heat sink.

    That's excellent. Thanks Zanash.

How did you find it afterwards? Did you leave the wall wart alone? I find these things usually create hum if near a phonostage. I've had Vestax mixers with them and the noise is outrageous.
