I'm now networked so my thoughts are turning to some form of streaming media center. one option (and the best till now) is the squeezebox. however during an emergency trip to pc world i spotted the aforementioned pinacle doohickey. this not only does audio but video too. it has digital outs so a decent dac could be added later and it even looks reasonably hi-fi seperates ish too. it even comes with a pcmcia wireless card. the only disadvantage i can see is that it only supports mp3 and pcm natively converting everything else to 128k mp3, but then i believe the sbox does something similar. the big advantage i can see with the sbox is that it is open source with a thriving dev community. has nayone seen any good / bad reviews of either product? price for both is about the same at 200ukp cheers julian
