    Hi,

Just picked up a second-hand Pioneer PD-S702 CD Player which, on paper, is a good step up from my ancient Technics SL-PG580A which is starting to lose the plot with CDR's...

Stable Platter mechanism, Legato Link Conversion etc...

Anyway, on delivery of the Pioneer, I have discovered that the small plastic lens on the laser had come adrift, and was rattling about in the innards of the machine.

Consequently, it didn't read any discs...:(

I managed to retrieve the lens, replace it, and everything seems to be ok...

However, just to be doubley sure, is it possible to source another laser for this player...?

    If so, where...?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dougie.

Many thanks...I'll possibly try the web link for a new assembly, but in the meantime it seems to be holding...

    A good player too...!

The lens dropping out is a very common problem on the Pioneer "Stable Platter" mechanisms.

I have successfully glued back many of them into place and provide you don't get fingerprints or glue on the lens they normally work fine again
