Planar’s PD8130 shares much technology with the flagship PD8150 combining sophisticated video processing and precision optics to create a 1080p projector with image quality of the highest order.

A Texas Instruments DLP® 1080p DMD chipset with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 (2,073,600 pixels) ensures that both HD DVD and Blu-ray sources are displayed with absolute precision.

All critical video processing is handled by a Planar customised VXP Gennum GF9450 with 10 bit independent dual channel image processing, true 1080i de-interlacing, MPEG artefact reduction (block and mosquito noise), latest motion adaptive processing, 3D noise reduction, detail enhancement, rich colour processing and noise reduction. Such attention to detail ensures all video material, irrespective of its resolution, is shown with maximum detail and minimal noise.

The PD8130’s light engine is capable of achieving 1000 ANSI lumens calibrated to D65 colour standards, along with an astonishing contrast ratio of 10,000:1. This in conjunction with TI’s DynamicBlack™ and BrilliantColor™ technology allows the PD8130 to create larger-than-life images of real impact and depth.

The precision all-glass lens provides a throw ratio of 1.85 – 2.40:1 allowing the projector to be successfully mounted out of sight behind the viewing area. Vertical optical lens shift further enhances the projector’s installation flexibility.

All features critical to seamless system operation are provided, including discrete power commands, direct access of all inputs and image presets, IR and RS232 control inputs and a 12V screen trigger.

    The PD8130 offers connectivity for a wide range of sources: 2 x HDMI 1.3 (HDCP), 1 x Component Video (RCA), 1 x RGB (HD-15), 1 x S-Video and 1 x Composite video.
