mana is the heroin of the hi-fi world. it's an addiction that is very difficult to kick. it's also the cause of the most vitriolic thread wars on hi-fi forums which is why you're getting all the odd comments....
    best to run now....
    cheers

apologies,I was mistakenly embouldered form my "eighty-threer and counting" HIFI+ thread, which gave a short term boost to my confidence levels and i thus entered Ebay in this emotional state, and stupidly started another thread.I will stick to the odd comment on seventies rock bands from now on.

Saab, it's difficult to get a straight answer to a simple question sometimes.

I'm no expert when it comes to Mana. Basically, I believe that its a manufacture of equipment supports and stands that adhere to a certain design philosophy.

Some people believe that Mana supports are superb and work well with all equipment in all rooms. Others prefer other systems. Others still believe that equipment support is of no great importance. You have to listen to the stuff or, preferably, try it out to know what works for you - in your room with your system.

The reason that it's such a controversial subject is that a percentage of Mana users are a little over-zealous and evangelical in their support for the products. This tends to draw a negative response from others.

..and buy other things, while the rest go to the Mana Forum and phase each other out of sight?

The Mana debate is pretty straightforward. You're either for it or against it. Those for think those against are butter-fingered, mad and deaf. Those against it think those for are grass-brained, mad and deaf. And then there's Tones.

well, thanks for the advice, but needless to say I am not going to become a rackist.Since the HIFI+ thread my wife has caught me sniffing that said publication, the second worst thing to be caught doing by ones immediate family, apparently, and if i get caught with little spirit levels and listening to glass sounds I think i will be finished.

    Most unfair Alex,

For instance I don't think you are butter fingered.

Mana stands work well for me, I find them easy to install and I haven't had any go off. Others prefer alternatives and Tones doesn't think any of it makes any difference. As ever you have to listen for yourself and decide.

I'm with your wife: she knows what is really good.
You will certainly become a rackist if you see the Pagode Master Reference.
Your wife will also love it and if you get the larger one she will certainly have also place to put her stuff on it too. It is a multipurpose piece of furniture.
The only problem you might have is that you may will have to delay the purchase of the new car for a few years.
    but that's not a problem isn't it. :D
