Finley something that I can enjoy from the 1980's this supernatural haunting is a classic of a small suburban home where a family, the “Freeling's†must confront there fears when there daughter “Coral Anne†is taken from this world into the ghostly world, with no possible way of getting back?

Warner has done a worth transfer that looks remarkable clear in the scope format which is framed at 2.40:1. Colours are nicely balanced sharpness along with brightness in the dark shadows stays clear contrast of the whites outside and inside look pleasing as well.

Poltergeist (1982) was realised exclusively in 70mm six-track Dolby stereo and really shows up extraordinarily well its probably one many best sounding films from that year that earned academy award for 3 nominations (Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing Stephen Hunter Flick Richard L. Anderson) (Best Effects, Visual Effects
Richard Edlund Michael Wood Bruce Nicholson) and score which helps serve the visuals with powerful suspenseful emotions Jerry Goldsmith.

From the opening the effectiveness of the Dolby six-track version uses the nation anthem on all channels then as the camera slowly pulls away from the TV the sound slowly starts to fade to monaural to represent the perspective and size of the TV.

It's a charming film with plenty of humour going on in-between it and frightening when called for.

With Halloween coming up it's a perfect film to scare the dickens out of friends, after trick and treating. :JOEL:
