My first guess of Neil Young (without google as he is about the only Canadian singer/songwriter I know) looks ok. The rest to come.

Neil Young wrote Southern Man, a glowering condemnation of southern bigotry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd replied with Sweet Home Alabama, a swaggering two-fingered salute.

Okay. Young wrote a second tune, Stupid Girl, that was supposedly a hatchet job on yet another artist. Who was that artist?

Okay, I'll give you a big clue. The same artist wrote as song called My Old Man, about somebody linked very closely to Neil Young.

    Joni Mitchell it was.

Bloody cheek as well, suggesting Ms Mitchell was not the sharpest pencil in the box.

    Over to you.

    Hi,

Which man, with an OBE, featured running with the band in the 70s. He also helped out by co writing a hit for a big mod band that didn't like doing much on a certain weekend day.

    Hi Lee,

Correct. I thought I would put an easy one in. :D

Kenny Lynch OBE appeared on the cover of the Wings album "Band on the run". He had a few hits in the 60's but also wrote a few tunes. This included the Small Faces hit Sha La La La Lee. He co wrote this with Mort Shuman. The other clue was Lazy Sunday.

Sorry (Stuart) Smudge but you have to answer the question before you can set one.

    Over to you Lee.

Your are too good. There was me hoping others would be thinking of one of the early New Wave/Punk bands.

    Back to you.
