Playing this quiz with Dean is like playing Trivial Pursuit with your best mate's dad who knows every answer and your purpose in the game is only to sit and watch as he romps to the win in about 2 or 3 gos of getting 10 questions right in succession :D :dj:

    Sorry all  .

I'll let others have a go before I answer.

Here's an easy one. What is Peter Gabriel's first solo album called?

IIRC they don't have names just numbers, usually identified as 1-4. Wasn't So the first one with a name?

    Hi

It wasn't SO. This came out in 1986.

The first 4 albums were self titled but were known as 1, 2, 3 & 4.

They were all called Peter Gabriel.

    You can go next Lordsummit.

Hmm..total guess this one but, they both used the same string players for the backing track? TBH can't even remember if Killing an Arab has string in it :shame:

    Jeez this is a toughie.

Its got nowt to do with the lyrics (I know both songs very well). Its got nothing to do with Sara Nelson (has it?).

"Killing an arab" was woefully misinterpreted as a direct rascist comment - but it wasnt. IIRC it was based on a book where the killing of an arab was due to heat exhaustion (about actions versus morality). Deep man.:MILD:

Massive attack had to change their name due to the gulf war, but this isnt relevant to the cure.

I dunno - this ones got me stumped.

    Any clues?

BTW - Just how obscure is this one?

Lamboy you are so close to the answer, just go back and look at your 1st reply and you'll be there I'm sure. As I said the answer is linked to an event not the song

Darn - Google was no help either :JPS:

But based on what's gone before it'll be something to do with Massive Attack and "Killing an Arab" not being very PC things to say during the (first) Gulf War. Was "Killing an Arab" banned from playlists during the war or something and Massive Attack had to change their name?

EDIT: to make the answer more succinct:

Massive Attack had to change their name because of the Gulf War when the single "Unfinished Sympathy" came out and "Killing an Arab" was banned from playlists during the Gulf War.

Hmmm, I dunno about that one. Massive attack changed to just 'Massive' (and then back again later on of course) in protest at the ..........Killing of Arabs!!!! A ha. I think thats it.

Can I have the kudos for this one? Michael was just feeding from all my hard work.
