So Greece, having fluked their way to the Euro 2004 title, have failed to qualify for the World Cup, winning only half of their games and losing the half of the rest (6W, 3D, 3L) and ending up 4th in their group.

Portugal on the other hand, the team who deserved to win Euro 2004 have cruised through qualification, easily winning their group without losing a game.

I for one am very pleased to see Greece get their comeuppance. I'm already looking forward to Portugal beating Brazil in the 2006 WC final :)

Great performance by England last night aswell

I do of course completely understand. It's similar to when Celtic were robbed by Porto in the UEFA final ;)

And just about every other game we've lost!

Thought that's what you meant. Of course it's never a sure thing but IMO they are easily capable of winning it.

I think this season's Brazilian squad will in the future be seen as one of the classic squads. I think they're a few steps ahead of any of the other teams.

Mexico look v good this year.

Portugal qualified from one of the weakest groups in the history of European football,

    1 Portugal
    2 Slovakia
    3 Russia
    4 Estonia
    5 Latvia
    6 Liechtenstein
    7 Luxembourg

Greece sadly came up against a strong Ukraine, a good Turkish side, and even former Euro Champs Denmark failed to make it out of that group.

The Portuguese are simply flattering to deceive as ever. Their best player is a Brazilian who wouldn't even be on the fringes of his native country's squad. They always choke at big finals, unless aided by friendly refereeing decisions in their own back yard. Who can forget the last world cup!

As ever Michaelab living in cloud cuckoo land. How he can believe in sporting miracles and not in audio ones is beyond me.
