Any way of increasing the resistence of a volumn pot? Ive a 10K but could do with 20K for a project. CPC dont have a 20K and I dont want to buy a alps etc. Any ideas?

How is it implemented? Can you change the value of the shunt (if there is one)?

There isnt a shunt but I think I might be able to do it. Its simply the two lines in/out plus a ground (I just solder across the two pins to ground). What are you thinking, a resistor to ground?

It depends if you want to attenuate the incoming signal ....the 10k pot will make things louder than the 20k pot.. or you could attenuate the out going signal...use the old L pad method resistor in line and one to ground for each signal. I don't have to hand the attenuation rates...but they should be on the web somewhere.

Alternatively get a bourns conductive plastic pot there cheap enough ...mind the alps from RS are only about £15 [if I've got the right ones]
