    Gentlemen,

Has anyone experience about power conditioners?
I have the opportunity to buy Hydra power conditioner, which is as far as I now, one of the best on the market.
The main reason I want to do this is,very bad quality of electricity I have and of course if there is any improvement in sound quality, even better.
    Any comments?

I dont know about or tried conditioners but perhaps a dedicated spur to your hifi may be beneficial. This would cut out ring mains noise from other appliances.

You know it occurs to me that cheaper than a dedicated spur would just be to run a separate earth lead back to the fuse-box from the hi-fi power-strip. Most of the noise as far as I know comes down the earth line.

However, I don't think mains conditioners make much difference. All good equipment should have good power filtering built in, and anything as simple as a few caps and coils on the mains side is unlikely to improve matters. The solution is better regulators in the hi-fi.

I have a Ben Duncan power conditioner and wouldn't be without it - gives that late night listening quality - great easy listening - - so for me thumbs up, they really can make a difference.

Exactly the point. I have noticed the same thing.
I took that power conditioner to run it for couple of days and the first impressions are, well, stunning. Even more clarity, more lows, greater soundstage.
But, I am 100% that the only reason for this big improvement, is because of such a bad quality of electricity.
On the top of everything, this box gives full protection to my system, so I am just about to decide to buy it.

Before you take the plunge see if you can change the breaker in the panel. Then clean a tighten the house ground.and try Tensons suggestion. If possible run a dedicated line or two from the panel. Install commercial grade receptacles. If your not happy enough buy the conditioner.

Thank's for a very reasonable advice.
However, the whole procedure would cost probably the same as the power conditioner. My HI-FI system and main panel are 3 floors apart. I am talking about serious demolition job here and it would just not pay off.
