Looking for a pre-amp, £300 or under. Maybe a bit more if it's really nice!

Open to anything, worst I can say is, it's not my cup of tea :)

    WAD Pre/Phono/PSU II

    Hi there

I have a World Audio Designs Pre/Phono/Psu II up for sale. I was looking £400 plus P&P. That might be more than you'd like to spend but it's a cracking Pre - especially if you can use the phono.

Mosey on over to world-designs.co.uk classifieds if you want to see a bit more

    :)

Does it actually have buttons on it, or is it basically all remote controlled?

Only an "off" button, rest is remote control.

It's nothing against them, but what if I sit on the remote or I stand on it, I basically have no amp till I can replace it, which wouldn't be too easy since it's discontuned.

They look nice, Damian. You never mentioned the electronic problem though, which I can see playing havoc with my MF A370, so I'd have to pass on those I'm afraid.

Quad are still repairing amps they made generations before the 66 series but it is clearly not for you.
    Enjoy your search.

Yeah, I know those old Quad monoblocks from the 60's are still going strong :).

As I said, nothing against the company but it just seems a bit more convenient and less prone to being bumped. Bumping the volume control with an A370 will prove fatal to many speakers!

Ignore this thread now anyway, just scored a beauty on eBay!

    Thanks for the interest,
    Darren

I ended up buying an A3 CD player, just going to use my A3 integrated as a pre-amp just now, will upgrade to an a308 later if I can find one, or something :)
