I got a camera today! Nice high quality Nikon 5700. I only played with it for 30min so I went in to the garden and took some pictures. I think they came out well! I have to hold very still so they don’t blur, but I also have a tripod on the way. I’m well chuffed with the picture quality :D One of the nice tricks it also does is take 84 pictures in 2 seconds! (then 60seconds to write them all to card lol!)

    Nice one SiMOn!

One way to minimisde blur without a tripod is to use the timer, you'll reduce the MOvement caused by pressing the shutter.

They are called Fox Gloves. I'm not sure what the pink one with water droplets is called though. Anyone know?

I also realised when playing with the camera settings a bit more that those pics were done on 'normal' quality, it has two higher settings!

Blimey, in the time of writing this message I have squished about 6 bugs! Every time I get one, another takes its place!

Thanks for the tip! I'll have a read of the manual and then probably be asking all sorts of silly questions! My mum did interior photography for a while, but never with digital cameras.

You can easily get your point across with images at around 700 wide, then we can all view them nicely on our laptops etc.
