    Hello all,

I have an interest in the above makes and the specific models I am looking at are:

    Primare D30.2/A30.1 - Unicon Research Unico CD/Amp

I have experienced the Primare system and have been impressed with it, however I am also interested in the Unison Research system (not had a chance to demo this yet).

Any thoughts/feedback on these pairings would be most appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,
What speakers will you be using?
What music do you listen to?
The Primare is a cracking Amp plenty of power not over analytical but plenty of detail smooth and a bit creamy sounding can have slightly heavy bass and lack a bit of top end sparkle and dynamics aren't the strongest.
Soundstage is deep and wide and it generally has a valve like quality about it.
It sounds good with most music genres and is a good all rounder.
Its also built to a very high standard and Primare offer an excellent service re faults problems etc.
Jezzer can hopefully give you some advice on the Unico.
I think he may even have owned the Primare before but that may have been someone else.
Both are excellent Amps its just a case of what sound u like.
If you listen to a lot of rock etc you may want to look elsewhere.

I have a Primare A20 mKII amp. This is a peppery little beast. Much more a rock amp than the A30's tho the power envelope is presumably less. It happily drives a 4 ohm load [DIY 3 ways] and like all good little uns - want's a bigger challenge!
