My Dad does a load of this in his retirement.

The concensus of opinion (for him) is that no its not worth it..........at least a very close call.

He buys when on offer from the big stores (Mo*risons,A*da) and keeps the costs down like that. At the end ogf the day its a hobby for him.....playing with the angles compostion, light etc then printing.

I print out very infrequently, for me the ink is the killer. I use a c*non i560.........gives suitably good results for my purposes. It cost £150 3 yeras ago AT LEAST , so i dare say quality has jumped /prices plumeted since then.

I don't think any of us have used on line services, so not sure.

WE tend to like the spontinaety of own printing.
