provisional interest of selling my x-act dac...

I'm looking to sell my musical fidelity x-act dac...

this has been modded by Zanash with a Burr-Brown op amp (opa2134) and new caps are Elna stargets

    new resistors are dale vishay

new Diodes swaped for Schottky 11DQ10's

and I've even had a custom built power supply (also built by Zanash) which all results in a lovely warm sound.

I have the original op amp and power supply too.

    thanks for your interest...

Yes and very nice it sounded to......after it recieved some attention. This could be a good unit for someone. Alternatively you could drop it onto ebay....the X series seem to make good money.

Do you have a provisional price. I suspect there may be some interest including mine if we had an idea.

yeah, no probs...thanks to you too - I think RodRat was going to contact you too as he was asking about the power supply and could If he could use the power supply in his xlps...not entirely sure what the xlps is tho, but there are 2 connections in the power supply - does that mean it can power 2 items at once..?

    cheers

I'll say yes off the top of my head ...... as long as he doesn't try to run an amp off it it should deliver enough power to run the xlp [phono stage]

I hadn't realised the power supply had two connections, I would imagine the connections are the same as the MF power supply upgrade works with the dac and phono stage. It will be interesting to see if the power supply improves the xlps performance.

    Hi Zanash

Thanks for you kind offer. I really wanted a benchmark but funds are a bit tight at the moment. Where would you say the modded xdact fits on the pecking order of dacs? For example the meridian 203.
