I have a Marantz CD6000OSE KI running into a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21 DAC (see equipment review). My question is what improvements could I expect from a change of transport? Is a universal DVD player going to better, worse, or no different?

Impossible to predict I would say, you'll just have to try it and see. I cant imagine there would be huge changes though.

The Marantz is a good transport as its extremely heavey and the case work of the OSE LE I have seems extremely well damaped so te KI will be ever better. I can't see a DVCD player being a better transport to be honest.

get a squeezebox - no vibration, no worries and all your music just a few clicks of a remote or mouse away - a bargain.
    cheers

Read a few people over the years who have said that marantz don't seem to show much difference/improvement when used with offboard DACs. Try before you buy.
