    Listen to this!

What's wrong with the people in this forum? :D

They have this obsession against colour...the world isn't black'n'white, you know?

Aren't your ears tired of sharp sounding, skinny hifi?

That's probably the reason why you're constantly replacing your gear...

Put some colour into your lives and enjoy the music!:band:

Hey !! that's my post your havin' a go at! Cheeky sod.:grrr:

What's wrong with colouration? you ask - well, nowt - that's what folks buy valve or Naim kit for ;).

Well, in truth .... that's the problem isn't it - it's not truthful. I prefer to (try and) get my music unadorned by extra colour - music is colourful enough on its own.

But those Aurousal A1 (great name!) speakers I was posting about have a lot going for them despite their colourations - they'd defo be on my shopping list for a £500 rrp speaker.

Who told you recordings are truthful? ;)

Anyway, my point is that even though you could hear the Aurousal colourations, you got into the music and loved them...and that's why you buy a stereo in the first place isn't it? :D

OK, you can tell me that some people buy stereos to listen to the gear and the recording, not the music...

    Yup, fair point.

But the trouble with equipment colourations is that the same god-damn tonal anomalies are overlaid on all the music. I rapidly get sick of listening to the upper bass bump on a Linn LP12, for example - it makes everything sound the same! Yuk.

Agreed. But there's colourations and then there's colourations. :MILD:

(Some are barely berable, others are just plain tasty)
