    Good job too!

Other than with a handful of expensive machines, cassette sounds pretty dire.

Someone over at pink fish thinks cassette is "preferable to any of the digital mediums!!!"

    Hmmmm!

Just seen it on BBC World News the presenter interviewed some geek about it and he was commenting on how good sound it was (He looked a prat/geek). Cassette is virtually a waste of time unless you have some rare recordings etc. I thought it died around 1992 when everyone was switching to CD myself.

I don't disagree about the sound quality of cassettes but the walkman pioneered the whole music on the move/personal listening. It was a revolutionary product IMO.

At the time it was convenient as it was small but not as good as 8 track which was too big.

You never know the antiques road-show may be wanting my old Walkman soon then :)

I'm interested to see if they are going to scrap the CD Walkman too as I have both CD and tape Walkman's both in perfect working order still. A big part of my teenage years.

That "prat/geek" is a very good friend of mine and one of the most gifted electronic repair men I have ever met.

Kindly keep your offensive generalisations to yourself.
