I would not dream of discouraging anyone from doing anything as long as what they do effects no one but themselves, David.

I will, however, freely state my opinion, and, on occasion, gently take the piss out of some of the more outrageous kung foo adepts.

Foo dealers, now, they are fair game.

    Regards,

    Chris

    Great...

...but can you define the word "foo", chris?

I don't know what it means and its not in my dictionary?

    Hi,

Why is it spoiling your fun? It's up to you what you do with regards to cables. On a forum, people can agree or disagree.

It just that the evidence is not always reliable.

I believe the accepted definition of "Foo" amongst people interested in the accurate reproduction of music is any effect which, on examination, appears to defy causality. For an effect to be real, it has to have an observable cause. No cause, and we are talking witchcraft, sleight of hand or charlatanry.

    Regards,

    Chris

    good question!

    True.

Yes but there is an element here who try to denigrate the subject, which I think coiuld be off putting to others.

The only evidence you need here is your own ears, my friend.

You don't have to read or believe any reports.

If it isn't working for you, then thats ok. It might work for some one else.

Let's face it, in the greater scheme of things, we are effectively discussing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

If the object of the exercise is to enjoy music (and why the hell else would we indulge in this hobby?), a well thought out budget (sub £1000) system will deliver 99% of the pleasure that a £50,000 super system will, irrespective of cables, supports etc.

It's the search for that final 1% that's the bugger!

I'm a relative newcomer to this forum, and as such am not aware of any past history or reputations of most of the protagonists.

But the D Louth77 posts strike me as strictly analogous to right wing religious nutter attacks on evolution or abortion. You know, "you disagree with me, I am right, so I'm gonna kill you."

    Very weird and slightly scary.
