Radiohead new 'cd'. Is it just me or has anyone else heard the faults, I checked the cover, and shock it isn't a cd.

No probs with mine. Is you're copy-protected? I managed to rip mine to MD so either it isn't CPd or the CP doesn't work on my laptop drive :)

I've heard it, and the faults have nothing to do with copy protection...

Yes it is copy protected, I've managed to make a backup using nero, the faults are the same on the backup so it must be a recording fault.

The faults are the same as when you copy a cd to fast (like a 'sp' sound every now and again. I tried it on my daughters mini stereo it was not as bad.

I ran a burn off the special "map" edition on Friday - not tried to listen to it, but any is better than none for Glasters (I'm NOT taking the original!). I'll just have to go with it and see if it works - if not, we can have fun and games with the CDR and a camp fire....

If we're talking about the distortion on the 3rd(?) track then I think it's an intentional part of the track, part of the whole grunge thing.

Other tracks have similar wierdnesses. There's a 10th second backward snip that gets played every now and then on the 4th track, but again it hits the rhythm of the song. The 6th track has some wierd clicking noise on the left channel, but again it 'fits'. And then there's the strange distorted noise start of track 8 -- again it's part of the rhythm.

(maybe if we recorded each individual 'wierd' bit we'd come up with a secret hidden track -- or maybe there'd be so many wierd bits maybe we'd come up with Hail to the Thief :) )

I heard nothing that was consistently bizarre through the CD, and it actually sounded pretty well recorded to me :) I actually thought it's a pretty good album!

Exactly where are these faults? And what do they sound like? By my ears this is one of the best CD's this year! Sure there's plenty wierdness, but nothing I can hear that shouldn't be.

    Tell me the secret!

You haven't ordered it from 101cd have you MO. Mine took 2weeks to come.
    I'll get future cd's from cd-wow.

The faults on the cd were on most songs. I would say if you had a faulty cd you would here them

HAHA! I ordered mine from cd-wow! I've used both wow and 101 (aMOngst others) with no problem in the past. I phoned wow earlier and she knew the date of my order alMOst as soon as I picked up the phone

Me "hello I've ordered a cd off you and recieved a dispath email but it's still not arived

Wow "Ok, i'm right in saying this was on the 18th with dispatch on the 20th?"

Which indeed it was. Apparently they'vre had a few complaints for that date and are investigating. Would be nice to recieve a voucher or something. free cd? :D
