Just noticed that someone reading the forum is called Angela.
Does this mean that I can tell my wife that not everyone who's into hi-fi is a sad male anorak who should have better things to do.
    Cool

Nope you are correct last time I looked I was indeed female, my boyfriend has gone off sailing for 3 months and left me housesitting for him resisted touching anything for so long then put on one of his Quincy Jones CD's **** amazing had to make a long distance call to say he was'nt a sad sack after all. He is currently using Mark Levinson kit - he told me to mention that. Was only supposed to be looking for a Revel, Wilson or Neat speakers for him and now it look as if I've joined a whole new community.

Anyway I have to say from a female point of view if you lot (and him) spend so much money on this stuff why are you online instead of listening to the music. tis good thou hifi...

Angela, I'm sitting here with Animal Planet (silently) on the projector, ambient techno on the audio and laptop on the wireless network, drinking a single malt, so that makes 4 things at once :) You might find the odd member round here who might mix in more things, but that would involve heathen things like drinking a blended.

Too damn right, nothing more than a drop of spring water should touch a good malt......

SteveC - obviously a man of good taste :D

I personally find a nice Ardbeg goes very well with a good listening session.
