Anyone tried this? I'm after giving my RB300 the Incognito treatment but am more than a little concerned at doing so - has anyone here fitted it themselves?

Was it especially tricky or just a case of 'take it nice and slowly and don't do it when suffering with the DT's??'

    Thanks for any advice :)

Theres a thing, did mine 2 nights ago.
fairly easy to do so long as you are carful, very very thin wires.
    A worthwhile improvement aswell

    :)

Just got back from Walrus about an hour or so ago - had a good chat with Pete, reckoned the job wasn't too bad.

Sat here now...pondering. Only real concern is that I've a really crap soldering iron - nearly as crap as its owner in fact. :D

Think this'll be a wet sunday afternoon job. :)

Did mine a few years back, made a great improvement.

The mechanical part of removing the old cable and inserting the new was very straight forward. HOWEVER, soldering the tiny little cartridge clips was V. fiddly and I almost came unstuck! It would be very easy to burn the ends away and potentialy bugger up the new wire. Careful does it!

    Still, very worthwhile upgrade.

    Best Regards.

    Well...the job's done. :)

Took all of an our and a half - the soldering could be neater but I'll probably re-do it some time in the near future, smarten it up a bit.

Improvement in sound quality is marked to say the least. There's less flabby bass and more of the important stuff - seems to have gained something in terms of real low-end heft aswell, especially pleasing bearing in mind my dinky speakers.

Music's faster and has a touch more drive - reckon it's down to the cable cleaning up the leading edge of sounds.

All in all, and as folk have already said, a very worthwhile upgrade indeed. If you haven't done it already, do it soon - your RB's will love you for it. :)
